ATHLETICS TASMANIA STATE TEAM MANAGER

Following the expression of interest period, Athletics Tasmania is proud to announce Yvette Edward as State Manager for the state team programs. Having assisted through her co-managerial position at the recent Australian Cross Country Championships in Canberra, Yvette formally steps into the role bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm.
Yvette, based in Hobart, currently coaches a group of twenty 10-12 year old budding distance athletes and has previously supported TIS coach Susan Andrews in her role working with and developing some of Tasmania’s most promising athletes. She is also a keen runner and cyclist, acting as the Women's Specialized Ambassador for cycling in Tasmania. Yvette is also the mother of two young children herself who outside of her capacity as a volunteer works as an engineer with a local firm; enabling her to bring a required levels of organisation and efficiency to the role.
The new appointment continues on from the invaluable contribution and efforts of former State Manager Rosemary Coleman. Rosemary’s leadership of Tasmanian teams extends over generations of athletes, from primary school teams all the way up to our elite members at countless Australian Junior and Youth championships. Athletics Tasmania wishes to again thank Rosemary for her influence and inspiration, as well as her assistance during the transition process.
Beyond the Cross Country Championships, Yvette is already busy coordinating and organising formalities for the upcoming Australian All Schools Athletics Championships, held at the AIS Athletics Track, Canberra, from 2-4 December 2016.
