Social Media and Website Announcement

Wednesday, 14 September 2016 | Athletics Tasmania

Athletics Tasmania is proud to announce new roles for overseeing the organisation’s social media accounts, as well as the ongoing administration of the AT website.

Following last month’s AGM, the AT Executive recognised the successful establishment of current online avenues, and particularly the ongoing potential and opportunities these provide to members, those associated with the organisation and the profile of Athletics Tasmania within the community. Both the website and social media continue to be an invaluable tool in keeping members informed and updated on the latest news and events that are relevant to AT, as well as communicating with members across a range of platforms.

Hobart based website designer and graduate Architect Dominic Anastasio will oversee the coordination of AT social media outlets, which include the current Facebook and Twitter accounts. Dominic graduated with his Masters degree in 2014 and has worked as a part of the AT social media team since January this year. Appointing a Coordinator provides AT further direction and growth into the way social media accounts are run and the benefit to members. Dominic brings experience in the social media field through his own business and involvement in athletics in Tasmania since his little athletics days, with an "interest in highlighting all aspects of our sport -  from our elite and international athletes through to our officials, volunteers and families who continue to support our members across the state - through a range of text, photographic and video based mediums.”
Alison Keleher will continue to work with the current administration team that sees ongoing updates to the AT website at Alison has also been involved in the role since Sep and assisted in publishing news items, event results and general updates through the website.
This announcement enables Athletics Tasmania to continue to develop and implement working policies related to the field, in conjunction with its ongoing relationship and input from Communities, Sport and Recreation. It provides an exciting opportunity to consult with the membership base to understand and form expectations and guidelines for all platforms, which will occur within the coming months.
