Hobart, Tasmania – 4 November
The 2024 Tasmanian All Schools Track & Field Championships wrapped up in Hobart this weekend, showcasing nearly 300 young athletes across a range of events and age groups.
Under reasonably clear skies, but blustery conditions—challenging for all athletes—young stars shone at the first championship event of the 2024-25 season. The two-day event highlighted exceptional talent and versatility among Tasmanian school-aged athletes from 10 Years through to U18's.
There were standout athletes everywhere, all of whom secured multiple medals in various events in their respective age groups. One of the performances of the meet must go to Isabella Wing who smashed her own Tasmanian U18 100m Hurdles record by 3 tenths of a second after a long-standing injury kept her on the sidelines for most of last season.
Congratulations to all the athletes who competed this weekend, and a special nod goes to those who achieved personal bests—a promising indicator of Tasmania’s strength leading into the Australian All Schools event later this year, and for the rest of the season ahead.
The event was made possible through the dedication of Athletics Tasmania’s officials and an incredible team of volunteers, whose hard work ensured the events ran on time and were well delivered.
Congratulations again to all, and onwards to the Australian All Schools and the rest of the 2024-25 season.
