Emerging Tasmanian Talent On Track For Season 2020/21
Athletics Tasmania, in partnership with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport, are proud to announce the thirty two athletes selected for the Target Talent Program (TTP) for the upcoming track and field season.
The TTP is a part of a national program that aims to identify and assist in developing talented, emerging athletes aged 13-19, with the potential and motivation to attain National representative standards.
Excitingly for season 2020/21, the squad features athletes from all event disciplines following increased national success for Tasmanian athletes in the Para and multi-event competitions.
The implications of COVID-19 result in a revamped program that has a stronger online focus for the educational components of the program. Athletes from around the state will attend their first training day on the 26th July at the Domain Athletics Centre, Hobart.
The program supports both the athletes and their personal coaches through seminars and information sessions from national coaches and specialist presenters; with an intent to further develop a pathway that provides appropriate development to a career in athletics in Tasmania.
