Para Classification Day

Athletics Tasmania, with the support of Athletics Australia, will again be hosting a Para Classification Day in conjunction with the Tasmanian All Schools Track & Field competition this year. Any person over the age of 8 years with a physical impairment who is interested in nominating for a Para classification in the sport of athletics can register. Although it is not essential that those nominating for classification compete at the All Schools Track & Field event, it is definitely encouraged!
Who: Anyone with a diagnosed physical impairment.
Please note: Classification is also available for those with a Vision Impairment, Intellectual Impairment, Hearing Impairment and for Transplant Athletes, however, this is not undertaken face-to-face. Nominations for these classification categories are all available online through the Athletics Australia website at https://www.athletics.com.au/multi-class-athletics/get-classified/.
What: Para Classification Event. Obtaining a Para classification allows all athletes to compete on an equal playing field.
When: Saturday 26 October, 2019. Depending on the number of athletes nominating for classification, timeslots will be allocated from approximately 8:30am – 5:30pm.
Where: Northern Athletics Centre, St Leonard’s, Launceston.
